All of us pretend and by pretending long enough we become- something similar to what we pretend!
We have self-images floating in our minds and subconsciously we want to become like this or like that. There was a time when I wanted to be lady-like and feminine, so I altered my gait and pretended to be that- I came pretty close to being called graceful. Now I want to be like an observer who is stoic and unaffected by life's pretty surprises and bitter shocks- rest assured I am on my way to becoming something like that because subconsciously I have applied my mind to becoming just that.
So the masks we wear were actually conceptualised by our fertile minds in the very beginning and we work towards putting it into place slowly and steadily. There always comes a time when we feel the need to re-invent ourselves and then we search our inner-selves to see what's next on our agenda.Once we generate a basic idea of our requirements we work towards it and acheive it in due course of time.We are all pretenders.Besides we are never satisfied with what we are. We are always finding excuses to change ourselves and re-invent our images.
Why are we always at war with ourselves? Why can't we adjust with what our natural qualities are? Perhaps we never do recognize ourselves and keep conceptualizing images that we would like to copy and paste on ourselves. Our nature is whatever we have imagined ourselves to be and therefore it is subject to our whims and fancies. And boy! isn't our mind creative and whimsical.
Think deep and look at what you are and then reflect upon the past and find out whether at one stage, you wanted to be someone you are at this stage of your life. If the answer is yes then whatever I have written is correct otherwise please correct me. So who are you pretending to be nowadays? And who do you want to become from hereon?
